TO JOIN
Complete a downloadable application and bring it with a check for the appropriate membership dues plus the initiation fee to a General Membership meeting. General Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 8:00 p.m. at the Chapter House. At the General Membership meeting, each prospective member is asked to briefly introduce him/herself and tell us why he/she wishes to join the LCC-IWLA.
Once the General Membership has approved the membership application, the applicant's payment has cleared the bank, and the applicant has completed orientation; the new member will be given a temporary card to use until the annual membership identification card issued by the National IWLA arrives in the mail.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Orientation is required for all adult members within 3 months of becoming a member. Completion of orientation is also required prior to using the chapter facilities. Orientation classes provide :
(1) an overview of the Chapter rules and regulations,
(2) operation of the range equipment,
(3) safety; and are recommended for the entire family
Orientation classes are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month starting at 8:00AM. at the Chapter House for approximately 1.5 hours. Orientation class must be completed before the member will receive his/her annual membership identification card
Each member is required to fulfill a minimum of nine hours of direct service to the LCC-IWLA each year while he/she is a member, including the year the member joins the chapter. Active participation as an Officer, Board Member, State Delegate, National Delegate, Committee Chairperson, or active committee member (subject to verification by Committee Chairperson) also counts as meeting the workday requirement. If a member fails to meet the workday requirement, that member will be assessed a workday fee (currently $67.50) for that year. Members who are approved for membership between October 1 and December 31 are exempt from meeting the workday requirement for the year in which they join, but must fulfill the requirement in the following years.
New members will be assigned to one Chapter Committee Chairperson. The committee assignment shall last for a period of twelve months following approval as a member. A member may always work on more than one committee if he/she would like. A list of committees follows:
