The Loudoun County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League is a local non-profit, conservation chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. (IWLA).

We are dedicated to the promotion of the means and opportunities for educating the public to conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water, air, wildlife and other natural resources of the United States, in Virginia and more specifically in Loudoun County. Further, we promote the enjoyment and wholesome utilization of those outdoor resources.

All local chapter members are dedicated outdoors people. The Loudoun County Chapter IWLA is active in local conservation issues and maintains a private membership facility on grounds located about six miles south of Leesburg, Virginia.

    Local History

The Loudoun County Chapter was chartered in March 15, 1951. This organization was dedicated as defenders of Loudoun's soil, air, woods, waters and wildlife.

The original chapter property was located on the present-day location of the Olde Izaak Walton Park found between the Food Lion, Route 7/15 bypass and King Street (Route15 - business) in Leesburg, Virginia.

After the town annexation of the `60s, the members felt compelled to relocate the chapter on property more conducive to the original goals.

Thanks to the generosity of these earlier members the chapter was able to move to the present 84-acre grounds in 1965. The property is owned by the Loudoun Waltonian Club, Inc. and leased to the chapter.
