RIFLES, GEAR & CLOTHING

Match is open to any centerfire rifle that is legal for whitetail deer hunting in Virginia, and any .22 rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle that is legal for hunting small game (rabbits and squirrels) in Virginia.

  1. There is virtually no limitation on the type or style of rifle. If the state of Virginia considers your centerfire rifle legal for hunting whitetail deer, and your .22 rifle legal for hunting rabbit and squirrel, then you can use it.

  2. Optical sights will be scored separately from iron sights. Even if only one of your two rifles has a scope, then you will be scored in the Optical Sight class.

  3. Binouculars and spotting scopes are allowed.

  4. Shooters are encouraged to wear their hunting clothes, to simulate the upcoming hunting season as closely as possible.

  5. Competition-style shooting jackets and shooting gloves are not permitted.

  6. All determinations of the Match Official as to the permissibility of rifles and equipment is final.
